I'd also suggest that it seems like the kind of change that should be officially announced in the forums sooner rather than later (also inb4 inevitable confusion of some users over "Google Drive" vs "Google Cloud Storage") and that some kind of warning message should be implemented in the CloudDrive product itself for those who have (or are adding) Google Drive as a provider. That said, between the fact that Google Drive has always had a 750GB per account per day upload limit (which is pretty low), some of the odd issues that pop up with it, and that they've recently limited to 1TB (or 5TB) of data and lock the account if it exceeds it (eg, stops uploads), the writing has been on the wall for a while. I do not think it is possible for me to find another storage provider to host my data economically. Will all data have stored through cloud drive being inaccessible for me after that date? Using my own API key would be a totally viable solution for me. Hopefully, I can still use cloud drive with google drive for future! But it was inconsistent, it was sometimes corrupting data. Now that they are enforcing limit and the pricing goes higher, there is no reason to not use something else. Will you let the option available to people that want to use it with the risk associated or you will remove it from the list of choice ? I have a mounted Google Drive with ~1TB remaining to upload, but the default API key seems to be severely throttled, uploading in a very unstable manner, stuck at 0bit/s at more than 50% of the time. What is the quickest way i cant get my data downloaded please? as im getting approx 350 dload from stablebit on my 1gb internet service. Will google drive fully stop on the 15th May or will i still be able to access it untill google drive do a future update that breaks stablebit access? However, they will not actively update the software to keep Google Drive provider working as Google could change their API at any time. As a rough estimate, 100TB at 350 Mbps would take at least 27 days (give or take) or almost twice as long as the days remaining until May 15th, so to have any chance of completing that successfully you'd definitely need to switch over to using your own API key. Note that even with your own key there's still a risk Google breaks something on their end (hopefully extremely unlikely but we can't rule it out) and you end up having to download the entire drive manually, so it's up to you to consider whether you should be safely detaching your clouddrive now so that you can begin the manual download. Thanx Shane, i just wish their was a video guide in how to go about applying my own API key in this situation. As ive never attempted anything like this before, so dont want to get it wrong and lose everything in the process. Also 350 Mbps download approx i am getting but as i stated i had a 1GB connection. Is their a way to max this out any settings to change in stablebit to improve my speed or is 350 Mbps about the best i am going to get? I also suggest making a backup copy of that file before you make any changes to it. I suspect 350 Mbps is the best you'll get.
