Question

Greetings.

I've switched to Dropbox with the business subscription after Amazon Cloud Drive Unlimited was completely unreliable. But now I also have permanent issues. The initial auth with dropbox is fine. A folder with 'Stablebit Cloud Drive' is created under 'Apps' in my dropbox and the first few minutes are smooth. Then I get a notice I need to re-authorize my drive with dropbox. But doing so now does no longer function. The same notice stay indefinitely, until I remove the connection from Cloud Drive and begin from step 1 again.

Can I have some advice how to get it working, or to provide you with the needed debug/dump files? I'd love to hear it's a known problem and being fixed in the next versions, so it's not me :P

(Using latest beta)

Thank you

It's beta, what do you expect. They are working on Cloud Drive, give it time to work properly

Beta doesn't mean crap anymore. They are selling it, and do not have Dropbox under experimental providers. Yes bugs can happen but just an acknowledgment of an issue is the first step that should be taken.

I agree with WBAdminUser. Me being a software developer as well, beta usually means function complete, but untested. I fully understand the situation with Amazon being a culprit for the status with the use of their Unlimited Cloud Drive. But I have no understanding in lacking a proper Dropbox support - them being of one of the first of its kind back in 2008 with a crazy userbase today. And their API documentation is really complete and tested by a dozens of 3rd party developer, their support towards helping programmers to develop for their platform is IMHO unmatched.

The other point of getting no reply to my problem from the developers here is quite unusual, seeing good discussions on various other topics in this forum.

Can I have a refund along with DrivePool? It's not useful at this moment.

Sorry for not getting to you sooner.

We do answer inequiries on the forums, but not as aggressively as we monitor the ticket system. For anything urgent, we do recommend that you use https://stablebit.com/Contactto get ahold of us.

And yes, we can definitely refund you, if you would like.  Please open a ticket at the above link and we'll process it.

However, we would definitely rather fix the issue for you.

You' said you're on the latest beta, is this 1.0.0.403? If not, please update to that version, and see if it helps.

If not, try disconnecting from the account, clear the cache on your browser, and retry. And try using "private Mode" or incognito, or whatever mode for your browser, as this may help with any browser related issues.

Otherwise, could you grab the error reports from the system?

Technically, pre-order, but yeah.

And again, sorry. I've been feeling under the weather lately, and haven't been as aggressively checking the forums.

I think its awesome you guys spend any time here. i was just throwing my hate into the ring that i saw the same issue. I do feel like even though it said re-authorize it was still working.

I'm happy to see a response from the developers :) Sorry, I didn't know you were feeling under the weather lately.

I want this product to be the success it deserves. For me personally it solves multiple headaches in one single solution (or rather two solutions, DrivePool along with CloudDrive is going to be a killer solution).

I was already using the latest beta StableBit.CloudDrive_1.0.0.405_x64_BETA.exe from http://dl.covecube.com/CloudDriveWindows/beta/download/when I started this thread.

I used CCleaner to get rid of everything that might be hidden. I've done all steps up until the drive got formatted and CloudDrive made the drive available to explorer. The same message about the unauthorized drive with Dropbox appeared.

I submitted now the error reports via http://wiki.covecube.com/StableBit_CloudDrive_Error_Reports

Well, I definitely understand. It's absolutely frustrating when something doesn't work as expected. :(

Hopefully, we can get this sorted out quickly, though.

:)

Well, when I'm not feeling good or am very tired, I don't check the forums as often.  Fortunately, there are usually enough knowledgeable users here that stuff usually gets answered anyways.

As for uninstalling, this should do it:

http://wiki.covecube.com/StableBit_CloudDrive_P0000001

That should clear all traces for the program.

Thank you very much for reporting this. This was actually multiple nasty bugs which got introduced in the latest changes to the way that StableBit CloudDrive stores and loads secrets. But they should now be fixed in the latest internal BETA (1.0.0.409). In addition, there was an issue with supporting OAuth 2.0 providers that don't issue a refresh token. I believe this was Dropbox only for now, that's why this affected that provider specifically.

Download: http://dl.covecube.com/CloudDriveWindows/beta/download/

I'm still testing the fixes to make absolutely sure that they're 100% effective, so this is hot off the press so to speak.

Once you install this new build, you will have to Reauthorize your Dropbox cloud drives (only once this time).

Thanks for the fix, Dropbox runs great now. Even blasting them with 20 upload threads.

Just a few minutes ago I connected to google drive to use their free 15GB storage. However, I do notice the same problem with permanent re-authorize. Is this a new problem resulting in fixing the Dropbox connection? Can you reproduce it on your end?

Edit: Seems to be gone now after a few retries. I'll keep an eye on it.

I've noticed that in the Google Drive thread some people are having issues, so I'm definitely going to be testing Google Drive more thoroughly, that's for sure.
