jdpg2
Wanted to upgrade to WS2012 R2 from WHS2011 was wondering if I pulled my pooled drives... rebuilt the server.. configured Drivepool and plug in the old drives if it will "Just work"? Thanks in Advance
0 Philmatic
Yep, I did exactly this. You don't even need to pull the drives, but I do just to be safe. Make sure you don't forget to release the license on the old machine before formatting. Otherwise you will have to open a ticket with support so they can release it on their end. 0 Christopher (Drashna)
What Philmatic said. If you're going to Server 2012R2 Essentials, then you may want to check out the WSS Troubleshooter as well. At least to "rebuild DrivePool Shares". http://wiki.covecube.com/StableBit_DrivePool_Utilities
0 daveyboy37
Oh Christopher. Seeing this just reminded me. I have never been able to get 1.00.169 to work. I always get an O/S unsupported message. That was on W8 now.. and previously S2012r2E and prior to that S2012E. Not a big problem because I still have 1.00.165 tucked away somewhere and that works on everything. EDIT: Cancel that. I just remoted in and tried again and it's now working on Windows 8.
