bitfidelity
I'm considering swapping out my PC case for another one with more bays, and in doing so, there's a good chance that the drives will no longer be connected to their original SATA ports. Will this affect the pool in any way?
0 Umfriend
No. You could, for instance, take out all drives and connect them in random order to another PC and Drivepool would recognize the Pool on the other machine just like that. Only caveat, I think, is when you use non-default add-ins. The Pool would be recognized but not all settings would work right away again. 0 Christopher (Drashna)
No, it doesn't. Well, mostly. If the data is duplicated, and you're reading the data, it will prefer internal over external drives for the reads. But as for what ports that they're on, that doesn't matter. You can move them around with no ill effect.
