Stop the SQL server, enable duplication and duplicate the files. 

Once that's done, start the service back up. 

 

 

We cannot duplicate files when they are locked.

And by "cannot", there is no good way to do this and guarantee their integrity and ensure they're in sync, while they're in use.

 

Once they are duplicated however, any modification should happen both all copies. 

 

 

This applies to virtual hard drives, as well (such as for HyperV or VMWare Workstation).
