How files are duplicated

Hey Chris, there's a discussion over on AVS asking about how files are written to a pool. I have made some assumptions, but it may be better answered by you.

I assume if a show is being recorded by WMC, it will be written to all drives in the pool, if so configured. Drivepool doesn't wait for the file to complete, then duplicate, does it?

 

I've never cared, because I don't duplicate the Recorded TV folder.

it writes to all "required" drives. meaning to the proper number of drives for the duplication status.

 

If realtime duplication is enabled, then it writes to all the disks in parallel. If not, then yes, it writes to one, and then moves it over later (2AM, by default).
