  2. Ok, then i'll give it a try! 4-5 forced unmounts and disconnects today. And a lot of red download errors... Perhaps something like a timeout or other thredshold could be usefull. The drive is downloading (not very fast, but its working) and then out of the blue a forced unmount of the drive. But then i try a reinstall in the next days. Perhaps i have also luck like you I also edited the Providersettings and put my client id into it, but it changed nothing...
  3. For me, it's like a breath of fresh air.... Everything has been running super smooth for days now. Not a single error or warning since the fresh windows install. I've tried repairing windows before and doing a bunch of stuff, but it never worked out. However, a couple of things to note. Before I reinstalled windows I upgraded my RAM from 4GB to 12GB, thinking it may be related. I still had the issues after that. Also, when I reinstalled windows, I took the opportunity to use a new SSD (Samsung EVO 860) instead of an old SSD which has been running my windows install from about 5 years now. So windows is installed on a new 500GB SSD, and my cloud drives are now caching to the same SSD as the OS. I re-purposed the old SSD as a drivepool SSD cache. The reason I decided to pull the trigger on the fresh install is that I noticed windows stability issues. It would randomly freeze and cause problems... so I wasn't sure if the old SSD was causing problems as well, so I decided to do both at that point. I didn't do anything with the service file. Just detached the drives before reinstalling windows, and then reinstalled clouddrive and re-attached the drives. I also made sure to backup my configurations of all my must-have programs, like Plex, and transfer to the new OS. It was surprisingly easy to do when following the various programs tutorials on backing up and restoring configurations. Also, remember to de-activate your license for stablebit before re-installing windows.
  4. Is it still running for you? Perhaps i should try a reinstall too. Did you do something else too? Like editing the service file? I still have a lot of red download errors, forced unmounts and so on...
  5. Last week
  6. So, it looks like my issue wasn't a clouddrive issue after all. I seem to have had windows stability issues. I decided to clean install windows and restore the individual programs that I wanted to keep. The drive has been up for 24 hours without any errors. Everything is normal now!

    Error 0x80070570

Lately I've been getting 0x80070570 error : the file or directory is corrupted and unreadable on some files I place on the drive and I can't delete the files or open them, any suggestions? (I'm using google drive).
  8. Hi there, Sinds a few weeks i use Clouddrive in combination with google drive. I have a connection that can handle 500mbit download en upload speed. I know there is a limit about how much you can upload each day around 500gb/750gb but does that also cound for downloading. I can not get higher speed dan 80mbit and if i am streaming 4k content that is for sure not enough. In the picture below you can see that i got Throtled when i get around 85mbps and that is not enough. I also added a screenshots of my settings. Hope you guys can help me out
  9. I'm on a Google Compute Engine VM so speeds to and from Google Drive should be pretty fast. I tested an upload with Google Filestream and was able to get speeds of 1.4gbps and an rclone upload hit 400mbps. I'm trying to move some data from the CloudDrive to rclone but am having trouble maintaining a high download speed. When I first start the transfer, I can get upwards of 700mbps but it soon crawls down from anywhere from 150 to 200mbps. I tried downloading a file from the CloudDrive using Windows explorer to see more specific file speeds. It would initially start out really fast at 400 to 500mbps but drop down to around 5, drop to 0, and back up to 10 to 20 with the speeds fluctuating somewhere between there but never back to the initial fast speed. I assumed this might have an issue to do with the prefetch settings so I tried experimenting with them but nothing changed the speeds. The drive was created with 20MB chunks, I tested 5 to 10 upload threads, minimum download sizes of 20MB to 100MB, prefetch trigger 5 to 20MB, forwards of 100 to 800MB, and a window of 30 seconds. I even disabled prefetching all together and experienced the same speeds. Something I also noticed was the threads used would fluctuate between 0 to 4 threads even though the maximum would be something like 10. I'm pulling my head over here and would really appreciate any help. Thanks
  10. As a response to multiple reports of cloud drive corruption from the Google Drive outage of June 2 2019, we are posting this warning starting with StableBit CloudDrive BETA on all Google Drive cloud drives. News story: https://www.zdnet.com/article/google-heres-what-caused-sundays-big-outage/ Please use caution and always backup your data by keeping multiple copies of your important files.
  11. I just want to clarify this. We cannot guarantee that cloud drive data loss will never happen again in the future. We ensure that StableBit CloudDrive is as reliable as possible by running it through a number of very thorough tests before every release, but ultimately a number of issues are beyond our control. First and foremost, the data itself is stored somewhere else, and there is always the change that it could get mangled. Hardware issues with your local cache drive, for example, could cause corruption as well. That's why it is always a good idea to keep multiple copies of your important files, using StableBit DrivePool or some other means. With the latest release (, now in BETA) we're adding a "Caution" message to all Google Drive cloud drives that should remind everyone to use caution when storing data on Google Drive. The latest release also includes cloud data duplication (more info: http://blog.covecube.com/2019/06/stablebit-clouddrive-1-1-1-1128-beta/) which you can enable for extra protection against future data loss or corruption.
  12. I've seen this a couple of times now and only get aware of the problem because my Kodi can't update it's database when it happens. I can access the pool via my Laptop (which is strange). When this happens I can see that the balancing is stuck at 99.8% or a similar number for hours. I can then only reboot. Now it's stuck at 60.2%. What could be the issue here? Edit: I found the reason I think. If Scanner is active and balancing starts, the process get's stuck to the point of no hangs. I have to stop Scanner and then balancing goes through. Using the latest Betas for both products. Please advise how we can analyze and fix.
  13. Great, thanks!

  15. version DP Error: "Error Adding Drive: cannot add the same disk to the pool twice" Hello, Need help resolving this error so that the disk with drive letter "I:" (as shown by the attached screenshot) may be returned to the pool. The error occurs when clicking the "+ Add" 'link'. Drive "I:" had stopped being recognized by DP after the system came out of sleep. Thank You
  16. I get the eventID error during server startup: "Application 'C:\Program Files (x86)\StableBit\Scanner\UI\Scanner.Notifications.exe' (pid 5580) cannot be restarted - Application SID does not match Conductor SID.." Next steps so that Scanner will start when server starts?
  17. I'm fairly certain this is a false positive, just reporting it in case there's been a breach on Covecube's end or something. This morning, Avira popped the attached warning up. Any ideas? It happened after I'd rebooted the PC to change the pool's drive letter (v1903 update had switched it incorrectly) and while a Veeam B&R job was backing up to the pool.
  18. You should take care about StableBit.CloudDrive_1.1.1.1114_x64_BETA.exe I installed this version on windows 10 may update and got like 15 bsod until i deleted everything from cloud drive. Settings, regedit, cache.... Stopping de service was causing BSOD, unistalling de version was causing BSOD.... I lost 400gb of cache that i had on my ssd.
  19. I do not use OFP or FPR but I wonder whether you could set Automatic Balancing to every day at, say, 23:00, and uncheck the "File placement rules respect...plug-ins.". Otherwise, if you do not duplicate between cloud and local, you could perhaps consider using the two seperate Pools and run a batch every night to move from local to cloud? I don't think DP was made with a view to exhibit behaviour based on the time of day...
  20. Hi, I feel like this is possible, but I can't get the right combination of settings to work while using file placement rules. I have a cloud pool and a HDD pool that are pooled together into a hybrid pool. I want file placement rules to be acted upon during balancing (sort certain folders into the cloud and others locally if space permits) but when moving files into any of the folders, I want it to behave using the 'Ordered File Placement' plugin. Essentially, use the HDD throughout the day, and balance later on to the cloud. It all works but without file placement rules. As soon as I place file placement rules, the files get moved to the cloud directly. This slows down my copies as soon as my local cloud drive cache fills up. Anyone have suggestions or ideas? I can share screenshots of my settings as well if that helps.
  21. Sure. I purchased and installed PartedMagic onto a USB. I then booted using this USB to run a Secure Erase, but it was not able to complete successfully. So I ran DD (through PartedMagic as well) on the drive around 5 times. I then converted the disk to GPT using diskpart and installed a fresh copy of Windows. I used CHKDSK, StableBit Scanner, and Intel SSD Toolbox (Full Diagnostic) to confirm that read/writes were functioning as intended. Based on what I could understand from Intel, it seems like the Optane drives are fairly unique due to their usage of 3D XPoint technology which caused the specific/strange behavior I was facing.
  22. No, duplication is instantaneous. Which is good.
  23. Awesome thanks so much! That answers all of my questions. Shame about the Parity though. I guess it will duplicate the files offpeak overnight etc
  24. 1. Install DrivePool (DP) 2. In the DP GUI, add the three 10TB HDDs to a new Pool (I would use the letter P for that one) It is important to realise that existing data on the HDDs will NOT be affected but they will also NOT be part of the Pool. If you want to move those files to the Pool, you could do this: http://wiki.covecube.com/StableBit_DrivePool_Q4142489 3. Now set duplication to x2 4. Let DP do its magic. Be aware though that DP does not use parity. It is a file based solution that simply ensures that you have a number of duplicates where each duplicate is stored on a different physical device. As a result, 3x10TB will allow for 15TB net storage "only" with x2 duplication.
  25. what happens when add new drive is added to the pool that is encrypted by diskcryptor? Does the pool magically support added capacity or do i have to do something special in diskcryptor?
  26. Hi Guys, So recently one of my 6Tb drives in my pool died. I had 2 x 6Tb drives and lost half my data. So i have now installed 3 x 10Tb drives in my NAS(HP Gen 8). I was originally looking at raid 5 . so 2 x 10TB + 1 drive for parity. But i was suggested to use Drivepool to do this. How exactly would i set this up so i have drive failure redundancy? My Setup is as below 3 x 10TB WD Red 1 x 500GB SSD Boot drive 16GB RAM
  27. @riahc3: How much data are we talking about and what kind of backup solution(s) do you (want) to use? As an example, I can not imagine image restore or BMR to work. Personally, I use Windows Server Backup (which uses VSS) to backup individual drives (and yes, I have x2 duplication but manage to backup the files only once by using hierarchical Pools).
