Question

On my WHS 2011 in my drive pool drive I have nearly 300 folders with names like "0f583ebda052f95c47cf19d2f325a166" that all contain one folder "amd64" that is empty.

It does not take space but they are a nuisance when you want to access the real folders.

Can I safely remove all these and how ca I prevent them to come back?

Thanks

GijsJan,

You absolutely can safely remove these folders.

Specifically, these are Windows Update temp files. They're placed on the disk with the most free space. But they are safe to delete once the updates have completed.

As for preventing the from coming back? There really isn't a good way, unfortunately.
