Thanks Christopher for your answer. Deleting is fast so I just need to clean the drive once in a while.

On my WHS 2011 in my drive pool drive I have nearly 300 folders with names like "0f583ebda052f95c47cf19d2f325a166" that all contain one folder "amd64" that is empty. It does not take space but they are a nuisance when you want to access the real folders. Can I safely remove all these and how ca I prevent them to come back? Thanks
