Error when installing stablebit scanner

Question

Hi,

had to remove SB scanner from my server and are now trying to reinstall it again

what happens is that i get error 80070643 fatal error during installation

Seems like the installation is totally f*cked up. Is there any way to roll back  /remove every trace to make the installer work again?

Could you run "%temp%" on the system? There should be a bunch of files listed. Find the ones that start with "StableBit_Scanner_". Grab these logs and upload them here or email them to me at christopher(at)covecube.com

As for a complete uninstall of the software:

However, you may need to do this:

I'm having a very similar issue, but for me it's on the Drivepool installation.  I'm a new user and have just bought my licence before downloading it.  For me, the scanner installs, but drivepool fails on installation, which is kinda annoying since that's the one i'm most interested in :).

Installing drivepool 64bit, on 64 bit windows 8.1 on HP microserver (N54L 4gig ram).

In my log from the error message it says further down:

Shame, was looking forward to playing with it..

Just to let you know, support helped solve my problem. A simple restart of the server did it.

Sorry for hijacking the thread, though maybe a restart would help fix your case too perhaps.

It is starting to look like the "Error 0x80070643: Failed to install MSI package" error indicates that the system needs to be rebooted, and that the installer is not properly identifying that.

If you do see this error, reboot the system. Twice, to make sure. If you're still having issues after that, then please let us know.
