StableBit Scanner not showing SMART Data when there is a SCSI to ATA Translation layer between the drives and the OS

the1337moderate

Question

System Specs:

  • Dell R720xd
  • Server 2019 DataCenter
  • 2x Dell H200e controllers
  • Netapp DS4486
  • Drives are mix of 8TB, 4TB, and 2TB

Controllers are running latest firmware. Stablebit Scanner will not pull SMART data from any drive. When attempting to "Show S.M.A.R.T..."  in StableBit Scanner the following message is displayed: "Using non-manufacturer specific interpretation rules."

Running smartctl will pull SCSI and ATA SMART data without issue (example of disk 17 shown):

You posted on another thread too.

But You may need to enable the "Unsafe" "Direct IO" option to get the SMART data off of these drives, due to the controller.
https://wiki.covecube.com/StableBit_Scanner_Advanced_Settings#Advanced_Settings

if that doesn't work, enable the "NoWmi" option for "Smart", as well.
