Anyone know if this tool works good on a WDC duo drive setup as a mirror raid?

I might have some bad sectors and all the WDC test i run come back clean and ok but i was getting some I/O errors and wanted to check both drives.

It may not grab SMART data if the drives are in an array (RAID array).

However, it may/should still run the surface and file system scans on the drive(s).

But StableBit Scanner does work better if the drives are presented to the host system (the OS) directly and are not part of a RAID.

Well I am still testing it and I will post the results. Seems to have got most of the SMART data and seems to be finding bad sectors. I might have to take the drives out and do one by one to find out what drive it is bad. Not buying a Duo again. Might sell the enclosure and use the drives in a new setup.

Oh... that reminds me, if this is a recent drive (eg, designed in the last 2 years), make sure you're on this version:

http://dl.covecube.com/ScannerWindows/beta/download/StableBit.Scanner_2.5.2.3129_BETA.exe

or for WHS/Server Essentials:

http://dl.covecube.com/ScannerWhs2/beta/download/StableBit.Scanner_2.5.2.3129_BETA.wssx

Otherwise, you can get false positives due to a weird issue with the newer drives.

As for the Duo, for backup or cold storage, it's not bad.  But generally, we'll recommend internal drives or eSATA over USB (for externals), due to issues with connectivity in general.

I am using 3103 Beta it was the newest one i downloaded from your site like 1 day ago lol.

I am going to buy a 6TB drive for now and put the data on it and then test both drives to see if any of them come back bad.
