Wanted a totally "clean install". Ran http://wiki.covecube.com/StableBit_DrivePool_Q3017479, but....

Question

I wanted a totally clean install. Been having problems with DP going to a point and just stalling. I ran the wiki knowledgebase http://wiki.covecube.com/StableBit_DrivePool_Q3017479, then installed the beta 2.2.0.742 according to Chris. Once the beta was installed it was trying to run the duplication scheme I had previously "dictated".

What do I need to do differently than http://wiki.covecube.com/StableBit_DrivePool_Q3017479in order to get a totally clean install? I had set up specific folder duplications, that's what I want to clear out and start over from scratch.

That will clear out all of the locally stored StableBit DrivePool settings, but it won't clear out duplication settings and the like.

If you want to reset the duplication status on the entire pool, you can do that with a single command:

"dpcmd set-duplication-recursive S:\ 1"

Where "S:\" is the Pool drive, and "1" being the duplication level you want (1 is disabled/unduplicated, 2 is enabled/duplicated, 3+ being higher levels of duplication).

However, if yo uwant to remove the pools as well, then you need to "unseed" the pool.

There isn't a guide for that, but basically, it's steps #1-3 from this:

I don't want to remove the pool, I "think" I just want to remove duplication and start over. DP (beta 2.2.0.742) is still going to a point and getting stuck. I want to try removing all duplication and starting over.

I tried the dpcmd you gave and keep getting "The command 'set-duplication-recursive' requires at least 3 parameters." So I just added *\* and it's running. Looks like it might take a bit.

thanks again

Well, just keep in mind that the setting has to check every folder on each drive. And since any given folder may reside on many (or all) of the disks in the pool, this may take a while.

If it's still running at this point, then let me know.

Still plugging away as of right now.  Probably let run it's course at this point.
