Handcopy to newdrive

sohma

Question

Hi.

I bought a new HDD and trying to move data to the new HDD. When I choose "remove" on the GUI, it fails with "Error removing drive".

Now my disks have
F:\PoolPart.7841c901-7030-4d23-9847-c18ab3a9717f
J:\PoolPart.aea781b3-4c6a-4ec2-8511-83bc3bc06f69
Is it OK to copy "PoolPart.7841c901-7030-4d23-9847-c18ab3a9717f" to the J drive?

It will be
J:\PoolPart.7841c901-7030-4d23-9847-c18ab3a9717f
J:\PoolPart.aea781b3-4c6a-4ec2-8511-83bc3bc06f69
and I will remobe F drive from the PC.

Don't copy the PoolPart.xxxx folder, just the contents in it.   There are some super hidden information attached to the folder which copying over may cause issues.

And if the J:\ drive is already in the pool, copying the contents of F:\PoolPart.xxxx to J:\PoolPart.yyyyy  should be fine.

In either case, make sure that you remeasure the pool (from the "manage pool" button/menu in the UI) once you've moved the files over.
