I've noticed similar behavior with a large amount of disks. From working with Chris, improvements have been made to Scanner in the new betas to address some of this.

Again, this is assuming your talking about a large number of disks. If your only connecting a couple, then better wait for someone else to respond as this may be an unrelated issue.

I was meaning more like 20+. I started seeing slow down around 25-30 drives but the betas improved that.

I wouldn't think you would have any issues at all with 6 disks.

This may sound really stupid but by chance are those 6 disks spun down/asleep when this happens? I could see it hanging while the disks spin up.

Is the disks are all spun up and it's still hanging, I would shoot an email to support as this is defiantly not normal.

Could you try this version?

http://dl.covecube.com/ScannerWindows/beta/download/StableBit.Scanner_2.5.2.3124_BETA.exe

Otherwise, could you run the StableBit Troubleshooter after this has happened, and set the "what to collect" to "All"?
