HellDiverUK
Attached is a screenshot of what happens when I try to install SSD Optimizer. Can you spot the problem?
0 Christopher (Drashna)
Make sure you have the right architecture for the installer. if you do, try right clicking on the installer and select "uninstall", and then try reinstalling. If that doesn't help, then let me know, and I'll post alternative instructions to get it installed.
0 HellDiverUK
I've tried both the x86 and x64 versions, DrivePool is the x64 version, as is Win 10 Pro. I also tried the "run as previous version of Windows" thing in the compatibility settings.
0 HellDiverUK
It's working, a reboot, an uninstall, another reboot and it worked.
0 Christopher (Drashna)
It's working, a reboot, an uninstall, another reboot and it worked. Lol, naturally. After I had a long post all typed out. And yeah, sometimes the WIndows Installer stuff doesn't give good error messages. If this happens in the future (or if anyone else experiences similiar), this should help: If you could run the following command from a command prompt: msiexec /a DrivePool.SSDOptimizerPlugin.Setup_1.0.3.5_x64.msi /Lime SSDOptimizer.log
0 HellDiverUK
Will do. Quick question, do I just set up my file placement rules as normal now?
0 Christopher (Drashna)
Well, that shows successful. Prior to rebooting, it probably would have mentioned a pending reboot, or the like. But who knows.
0 HellDiverUK
Aye, I realised what you meant after I posted, so I edited.
0 Christopher (Drashna)
Not a problem. ANd yes, just set up stuff as normal. Though, if you're using the file placement rules, you may want to change the overall balancing settings (as mentioned in the "Notes" for the balancer).
