unusable for duplication

Question

Hello - I recently started getting a message saying unusable for duplication (like mentioned in this thread http://community.covecube.com/index.php?/topic/1501-unusable-for-duplication )

http://i.imgur.com/jlVvtq1.png

here is a screenshot. I would love to rectify this issue but I have no idea how. I have submitted my logs like was mentioned in that other thread.

Does anybody have any ideas what this caused by or how to fix it? Did the person in that thread get his issue resolved?

I would like to mention also that it could maybe be a result of a program called 'Video Comparer' which attempts to find duplicate videos that you might have. It has an option to 'delete directly' and maybe that bypasses the windows api or something? I don't know I am just grasping at straws trying to guess what caused this but it happened at that time and that was the only additional program that I had installed.

Oh also further to this I did all that was mentioned in http://community.covecube.com/index.php?/topic/1525-no-disks-in-pool/and that resulted in still having the same issue.

Based on the image you've posted, this may be fine for your pool.

Since I can't tell, I'm guessing that the difference in free space of the last two listed drives is ~1TBs.

If you're not using duplication at all (which it appears that you're not), then this value doesn't mean anything for you. It doesn't count against the free space for the unduplicated data.  It's entire purpose is to let you know that there is space on the pool that cannot be used for duplicated data.

Basically: Ignore it.

Yes that is what I thought, although I would like to know what is causing this issue.

It has had knock on effects for my redundancy solution (SNAPRAID) and during backup process I get this output.

Does that help in any way? I'm trying to locate what is causing this issue, even though it causes no issues for me in terms of functionality, i'd like to fix it.

If this is just for the errors, then it may be fine.

If it's erroring out on the DRivepool disk, then... well, there are no actual logical blocks to address. I'm not sure why it would be doing that.

But if you're having issues with the pool at all, enable file system logging and reproduce:
