Exclude Files

jdoggvt

Question

I recently switch from FlexRAID and I have to say I'm extremely happy with the stability of the pooled drives and my system overall. FR was always a little flakey but one thing I did like was the exlusion list where I could explicitly tell it not to include certain files during a parity update.

I'm running into an issue where my Calibre directory is causing operations to pause because metadata.db is locked and can't be copied. I don't particularly care if this file is duplicated since all the database info is stored with the respective books but I would like to tell DrivePool to just ignore it entirely when running a duplication check/operation. Is there a way to accomplish this?

TIA

Ok cool, I found a way to move the DB file out of the pool. 'Problem' solved :)

There's some info here: http://manual.calibre-ebook.com/customize.html

Basically you add an environmental variable CALIBRE_OVERRIDE_DATABASE_PATH with the full path to the new location of your database file, i.e. C:\Users\[username]\Documents\metadata.db and it will work just fine.
