  1. Ok cool, thanks for the tip. I've updated the settings per your recommendation. Also regarding the files showing up in the 'recently added' list incorrectly, all I had to do was refresh the movies/tv shows one by one (either from the internet or from local data) and the list started showing up correctly. Just thought I'd leave this here in case anyone else experiences this (though usually it's just me ).
  2. Well it appears that the actual file dates are unchanged like you said, I guess there's something going on with XBMC/Kodi that's causing everything to be out of order. This is an example of the notifications I was getting about the drive every 6-8 minutes; it certainly didn't want me to overlook the warnings! S.M.A.R.T. Failure on "MEDIASERVER-PC" running at "MediaServer". One or more disks are expected to fail within 24 hours: ST2000DL ST2000DL003-9VT1 SCSI Disk Device Model: ST2000DL003-9VT166 Serial number: [Removed] Case: media server Bay: 10 The email notifications alternated between 'drive is suspect' and 'drive is failing'. I took this to mean 'abandon ship' so started the removal manually.
  3. Scanner recently informed me of a failing drive so I initiated a 'remove' (which I thought was supposed to happen automatically but maybe my settings are wrong?). A large portion of the drive's content was movies and it appears that the original file creation date was overwritten with the current date which caused all of my 'recent movies' in XBMC/Kodi to show the files that were moved to safe drives as opposed to the most recently added files. Is there a setting that I'm missing that would have kept the original creation date?
  4. It happens whether I add/remove a drive or just reboot without making any changes. I opened a ticket with support. Thanks!

    Exclude Files

Ok cool, I found a way to move the DB file out of the pool. 'Problem' solved There's some info here: http://manual.calibre-ebook.com/customize.html Basically you add an environmental variable CALIBRE_OVERRIDE_DATABASE_PATH with the full path to the new location of your database file, i.e. C:\Users\[username]\Documents\metadata.db and it will work just fine.
  6. I recently purchased the bundle, received my license key, and activated DrivePool and Scanner. For some reason every single time I restart my PC I'm asked to either transfer my license to use eIther product or I have to deactivate and re-enter my license. Is there any way to force my license key to stick so I don't have to enter this info every time I reboot? TIA

    Exclude Files

I recently switch from FlexRAID and I have to say I'm extremely happy with the stability of the pooled drives and my system overall. FR was always a little flakey but one thing I did like was the exlusion list where I could explicitly tell it not to include certain files during a parity update. I'm running into an issue where my Calibre directory is causing operations to pause because metadata.db is locked and can't be copied. I don't particularly care if this file is duplicated since all the database info is stored with the respective books but I would like to tell DrivePool to just ignore it entirely when running a duplication check/operation. Is there a way to accomplish this? TIA
