Recurring Missing Disk error

Chadd C

Question

I am running Stable Bit Drive Pool on a Windows 8.1 machine. I have one pool with two disks. I have been having issues with my installation reporting "missing disks". This can happen to either of the two physical disks. to resolve the issue, I have to either reboot the machine, or reseat the disk in the enclosure.

My questions are, is this is a known issue? If so is there are fix? How can I track down the cause?

Any help would be appreciated!

After this happens (before reseating the drives or rebooting the machine), can you still access the actual disk?

If not, then this is normal, and is because the system is having issues accessing the drive.  There isn't anything that StableBit DrivePool can do about this in this case, and is an issue with the controller or enclosure that you're using (most likely).

If the disk IS accessible after this, open the UI and see if the StableBit DrivePool is still reporting the disk as missing.
If it is, then try to reproduce this, and enable file system logging.

Also, what version of Windows 8.1 are you using (32 bit or 64 bit)?
