Stablebit Scanner preventing external USB drives from being ejected

Whenever I connect a USB drive to my system, I am unable to eject the drive.  I get an error similar to the following:

The application \Device\HarddiskVolume10\Program Files (x86)\StableBit\Scanner\Service\Scanner.Service.exe with process id 3700 stopped the removal or ejection for the device USB\VID_174C&PID_55AA\MSFT30123456789205.

I have to stop the StableBit scanner service before I can safely eject the drive.

This occurs immediately after connecting the drive.

Try enabling throttling for SMART queries, in the Scanner Settings.  That may help with this behavior.

That appears to have helped. Thank you.
