  1. Recently installed Glary Utilities. Ran the "find empty folders" utility and it found thousands of them. It appears that when I turned off duplication for a number of folders and SP cleaned up it left empty folders behind? I'm just guessing. Anyway, does it hurt anything if I delete all those empty folders out of the various diskpart hidden folders?
  2. Let me double-check this. Does "reset the settings on them" mean click "Reset all settings..." in Drive Pool under Troubleshooting? What would I then need to re-setup? Folder duplication, balancer settings, order, etc., that sort of thing? Any way to export the settings to a config file first? Or import them again later? Or should I make screen shots first? What happens to duplicated files if I forget and set the duplication settings wrong (different) after the reset? I might try that on the Win 7 box but I am not anxious to mess with the WHS box until the "real" update is issued.

    At a loss...

Are you also running Scanner? I have DP running on both machines, with Scanner on both machines as well. Makes me feel safer anyway.
  4. MS Security Essentials on Win 7 MalwareBytes Pro on Windows Home Server 2011 I've done "complete" scans of both systems (admittedly not recently, it takes a while) and I don't recall any problems.
  5. Background: My WHS2011 had a drive going bad (I run both DrivePool and Scanner). I removed duplication until I had enough room to follow the "remove" drive instructions. I think I completed the instructions successfully. I replaced the drive with a new drive of the same size, added it to the pool, then reinstated selective folder duplication as I wished. The WHS server seems fine. I installed the suspect drive onto my Win7 system (which also has DrivePool on it). WD diagnostic software confirmed a failing drive. I RMA'd it off after writing zero's to it. Symptom 1: On the Win 7 PC: Every time I restart the Win7 PC I get a missing drive warning like this: * WDC WD30EFRX-68AX9N0 (S/N: WD-whatever) 28C - 0B (Pool: ?) Every time it reboots. When I open the DrivePool app this drive does not show up. I don't want to turn off real email warnings but I don't see how to get rid of this phantom warning. Symptom 2: On the WHS2011 server the failing drive warnings never cleared out. I still have two like this * WHS11 1/17/2015 Sector unreadable on disk * WHS11 1/18/2015 A disk is suspect I have the warnings set to be ignored, but any advice on how to get rid of them?
  6. okay, but only if this is not the default and can be left turned off. I'd also suggest a "do not add" option...
  7. Recently replaced a 1.5 TB Seagate in my pool with a 3 TB WD Red. I just noticed that Scanner (2.4.0.2928) shows a temperature graph for that drive (with a selectable sample interval, 1 minute initially) but only for that one drive. Is this a feature of the Red's SMART system? Or something new in Scanner that only works with some drives?
  8. happened again, the first access after a cold restart. issue submitted with error files.
  9. On a Windows 7 machine using DP 2.0.0.312 Beta you can set duplication on folders beneath the root folders. Seems to work fine for me in my tests. My only gripe is that there is no indication on the higher level folders that a lower level folder is duplicated. The duplicated folder says x2 but everything above it says x1. I set the duplication via the regular UI, not a command prompt command.
  10. I never got an upgrade notice from the software. I checked and the correct box was checked. Could it be because I have one drive with a SMART warning (6 reallocated sectors)? Hmmm.... In any case I've upgraded manually now and if it happens again I'll try to open a ticket with attachment as requested.
  11. I have two licenses for SB Scanner. Both are in use (one on WHS 2011, the other on Win 7 Pro). On my Win 7 Pro PC occasionally the copy of scanner (build 2.3.2.2885) isn't happy when I start up the user interface. It seems to happen mostly after the machine has been up a while and subject to multiple sleep / awaken cycles. The scanner UI content is whited out with a window floating over it saying that I need to transfer my license... which I should not need to do as it was already entered. So far a Restart always seems to clear up this issue but it worries. So I am reporting it.
