  1. I guess I should have delved deeper sooner. It looks like a previous backup of DP. This should be safe to delete Right? I can then power down a spinner until needed.
  2. I've read the previously provided explanation of why Unduplicated Other content may be seen, but it's been a while since the subject was mentioned and drives are now considerably bigger. In my case I have two 12 TB, one 10TB spinners and one 2TB SSD. That makes 36TB, but real world around 34.81TB. I have 10.7TB duplicated, 16.6TB Free and 5.51TB Other. What interests me is that it's all on 1 drive, as you can see below. I haven't put other data on that drive - but I am going to take a deeper look. It's not that I need the space - I'd just like to understand what is there.
  3. Thankfully Drive Pool did its job, and I was able to remove the suspect M2 SSD without losing data. It was a completely new failure to me.
  4. So my "Server" now has a very healthy Pool and I'm looking for a SW to backup other house PC's to my pool. The 2 other PC's have about 1.5 to 2.0 GB of SSD drives so there is not a lot of file size to consider. Any recommendations of easy to use SW?

    Missing Disk

I was thinking on similar lines. Not sure about where to copy the "PoolPart" to. I have spare drive capacity, but how would I eventually paste it back into my pool?

    Missing Disk

Having added a new drive - to retire some older units. I was expanding a partition on an 8TB drive (I should know better) and while it reported OK, my SW didn't merge the partitions. Worse, it resulted in the disk going missing from my pool and creating a new pool. I know how to remove that and I checked and it still has some accessible data but I cant get the drive back into my pool. I get various error messages error adding drive and handle is invalid So: 1. my pool still thinks a drive is missing, but I can't add it. 2. The missing drive is seen twice as F: and Pool L 3. I was removing a small SSD its meant to hold file and move to HD but doesn't - that will not complete with a missing drive. Any suggestions to fix my stupid actions ...
  7. Honestly, this SW is very cheap for what it does. Try it, like it and throw the guys a few greens
  8. Yes, In accordance with the settings you defined in setup for file / disk distribution.
  9. Well all is finally well. It took a while to kill the PoolpPart.2ad* folder in fact I ended up removing the subject 6TB drive and reformatting it to remove the file that insisted I need Admin rights (which I have) to delete. I don't seem to have lost any files, duplication is now back to normal and I have more than enough reserve space. Back to my honey do list......
  10. Update: Not quite back to normal yet. After allowing duplication and balance to sort sort out, I realized that there was still to much space being taken considering I had added a 12TB drive. Then I noticed that only when I accessed the pool folder there was a separate pool listed as PoolPart.2_XX as seen below. Final point is that the main pool has lots of empty sub folders (lost movies) and that most exist in PoolPart.2 Most of the "lost files" can be accessed there. Should I just copy the duplicate files into to the main pool to recover them and then delete PoolPart.2 to recover space. Thanks
  11. Go into manage pool and selection change duplication. Should show 3 now and type in 2.
  12. It was incredibly slow to remove the (10TB) drive and would hang at around 15-16 %, so I ran CHKDSK :/R and after a short while it reported fixed. Then I was able to remove Drive D:/ quite quickly and kill Pool J:/ Some of the folders in D:/ were empty so I'm rerunning duplication as they are present on Pool :/ Thanks so much for your help.
  13. Thanks for the help, yes I should have thought of that. Removal of the last drive has been running for some time now; with an 8TB I guess I just have to wait until its finished doing its thing.
  14. I managed to remove duplication in Pool I. Pool J is refusing to play nicely and remove itself, is there a way to force it?
  15. So I went into Pool J and tried to remove it. It looked as if if might and then gave an error message: File or directory is corrupted and unreadable. Same error with all 3 options checked. Any ideas.
