Henning got a reaction from Christopher (Drashna) in System Drive C: Full on WHS2011
I understand the thread is quite old but at least this solved my problem with the temp folder getting filled up, maybe it helps others:
found on microsoft answers:
Checking <windows>\Logs\CBS folder I found lots of .log and (some) .cab files
It seems, that windows wasn't able to zip (makecab.exe) one of the .log files.
Solution was:
in <windows>\Logs\CBS folder delete the oldest .log file (you can also delete them all)
in <windows>\temp folder delete every cab_xxxx
in the following regeneration process, the remaining (CBS) logs where zipped correctly, and <windows>\temp was left clean

Henning got a reaction from Tardas-Zib in DrivePool feeder disk question
Hi,
like the topic says, got a question about feeder disks...
I use a Samsung 120GB ssd for the system disk (C:) and have WHS2011 installed. The WHS2011 occupies arround 24-30 GB right now, 10 % of the space is used for over provisioning, I would give the system another 25gb, that would leave me with something like 50gb free. Can I use that as a new partition in the pool for a feeder disk? Just as a landing zone? Will I gain something at all? Will it be worth the trouble? What would be the disadvantage?
Thanks for feedback,
Henning.

Henning got a reaction from Tardas-Zib in Drivepool vs. ServerFolders
Hi,
I reinstalled Whs2011 and used a set of pooled drives. Drivepool (newest beta version) recognized the previous Pool and started checking. all seemed OK. Now I wasn´t able to move the Server Folders from C: (Samsung Evo) to P:\ (existing pool). I couldn´t see the Pool in the Dashboard/ ServerFolder & Hard Disk tab, but that might be OK because I mounted the pooled disks not with a driveletter.
I got the Troubleshooter Software and it created the Server Folders. Great! I can write and read the folders.
Now comes my problem. In the dashboard/ ServerFolder tab the free space shows as "unknown" and more annoying, I cant add a new folder in the pool with the "add folder" function in the dashboard. The error message is; the task "Add a folder" did not complete successfully. I have a backup disk not in the pool, and on that one I can create and add folders.
I ran the troubleshooter again and reseted all the rights in the pool, but it didn´t help.
I hope there is an easy fix, because the next step would be to create a new Pool...
Thanks for any hints and advice,
Henning.

If you don't mind beta versions, Alex has added this to the newest built of DrivePool.

Henning got a reaction from Tardas-Zib in Drivepool is constantly duplicating
Hi,
just wanted to make sure that Drivepool is behaving like it should.
I Installed Drivepool on a WHS 2011 Miniserver, build a pool with one empty 4tb disk. Later i put a second disk with lots of data in the pool. Moved all files into the hidden pool folder and switched on "Enable File Duplication on the Entire Pool".
Since then it continues to show me a message that it is "duplicating". It never stopps? Different percentages, yes, but it never says "all files duplicated"? Server runs now 5-6 days and I didn´t put new files on the pool, just messing with shared folders permissions etc..
Is this normal?

Henning got a reaction from Tardas-Zib in Change Language in DrivePool
Hi.
Maybe I am overlooking it but how do I change the UI Language in DrivePool to English? It got installed in a german OS but I prefer English.
