Drive dropped out and started its own Pool

Brent

Question

Hi Guys,

New user to Drivepool and im having issues.

One of my 8 drives dropped out of the main pool, and then decided to start its own pool under a different drive letter name (K:).

The original pool is now stuck duplicating @ 31.6% and been that way for about 24 hours. I have tried a couple of restarts with no change

The 2nd pool (K:) wont let me remove the drive either.

More worrying is that when I go in to open the drive, it allows me to get to the hidden PoolPart and then when I try and open that folder it comes up "The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable"

The drive is showing up as healthy in the SMART check.

Any help for a newbie would be much appreciated.

Cheers,

Well, that corrupted folder is almost certainly the cause of the duplication failure here.

For the disk in question (not the pool, but the disk with the error), you will want to run chkdsk on it. That should fix the folder issue. If it doesn't, then you may need to run "chkdsk /r" on it
