Move files through Windows?

dancingbear

Question

I am having issues removing a couple of 2TB drives from my drivepool.   After 15 mins or so I get an error and have to restart the Remove Drive process.  What would happen if I just moved files it the windows interface rather than relying on Drivepool?

Any other suggestions?

****EDIT****

Answer below seems to have worked overnight.  Without any files left behind.  Strange but effective.  Thanks!

I am not able to reply.  It says my account has been issued a warning, but I cannot find a way to clear that up.

You'd need to remeasure, afterwards, but that's it.

However, i would suggest doing these:

  • Install the public beta.
There are a bunch of fixes to the removal code, and it works better.
  • Use the "Force Damaged Drive removal" option. This will skip the problem files, and continue to remove the drive.
You will still want to move files off the drive, that didn't get moved off.
