Bad Pool Header BSOD

Forkboy2

Question

I've installed DrivePool twice now.  Each time I end up getting Bad Pool Header BSOD upon boot and had to reinstall Windows 10....ugh.

I'm using Windows 10 with Samsung SSD for boot drive and 8 hard drives mounted in exterior enclosures that I'm trying to create a pool with.  Nothing really unusual with my system so surprised to have problems.  I also tried DriveBender and immediate got the same BSOD.

Any idea what might be going on?

Don't reinstall Windows.

Boot into safe mode.  Navigate to "C:\Windows\System32\drivers", and rename/delete "covefs.sys", and then reboot.  This should boot back into the system just fine.

But just in case, run "services.msc", find the "StableBit DrivePool Service", right click on it and select "Properties", and then set the "startup type" to "manual".

Otherwise, try using this version:

http://dl.covecube.com/DrivePoolWindows/beta/download/StableBit.DrivePool_2.2.0.767_x64_BETA.exe

That may fix the issue you're seeing outright.

Otherwise, if it BSOD's again... do the above to "remove" it temporarily, and then run the StableBit Troubleshooter
