Error removing drive

Using Stablebit Drivepool 2.1.1.561 I have an error removing a drive. "the request could not be performed because of an I/O device error". What does this mean and how can I fix it. I need to remove the drive because to upgrade and there is 982 GB of unduplicated files on it.

Try one of these:

• Enable the "Force Damaged Drive Removal" option. 

 

Either way, the "IO Device error" means that it is having issues reading from the drive.  

The beta version may handle this better, but the damaged disk removal option will skip problem files.  

After the removal has completed, you'll see a "PoolPart.xxxxx" folder. you can access the remaining (non-removed) files there and attempt to recover them manually, if you want.
