Most drives arent showing up as available to pool

mikeb

Question

Hello,

Im using the trial and trying to get this setup on my system. I have 14 drives and only 7 are showing up in drivepool. I checked in disk management and they all show as basic which I read in the forums is what they should be set at. Any ideas on how I can get all the drives showing up?

Thanks!

Could you do this:

http://wiki.covecube.com/StableBit_DrivePool_2.x_Log_Collection

Just do steps #7-9, (grab the files)

And do this:

http://wiki.covecube.com/StableBit_DrivePool_Service_Memory_Dump

This is so we can take a look at what is going wrong here, and why it's not showing all of the disks.

Then reset the settings, as this should fix the issue (it usually does in this case):

If that doesn't help, then let me know.

Hi Christopher,

Thanks for the help! I followed the steps and was able to get all the drives showing up by resetting the settings!

attached are my log/dump files you requested.

And I think i know what to do next but just to be sure :

All my drives have info on them and id like to group a few of them together

I should

1. open the drive that i added to the pool

2. stop the service

3. drag all the files from that drive into the hidden pool folder?

4. restart the service

the only downside is they are in the hidden pool folders but thats what would happen to a brand new drive anyway, correct?

Thanks again for the help!

Glad to hear it!
Though it looks like the files didn't get attached.  If you would, there should be a "Box.com" upload firm in the log collection link above. Please upload the files there. (http://wiki.covecube.com/StableBit_DrivePool_2.x_Log_Collection)

As for moving the data into the pool, essentially, yes.  However, we've detailed the process here:

If you're not sure about it, or wish to have assistance with this, just let us know and we can set up a remote support session to assist you with this directly.

Regards
