covefs.sys 10-20% cpu usage when measuring

Question

So i´m running build 21.1.561 on Windows 10 Pro x64 10586.63 and after restart the pool takes a long time to measure up and while so it uses a lot of cpu.

 

I don´t remember drivepool using to much cpu power, ever. Any thoughts?

 

My build is i7 4770K with 32GB ram so 10-20% on this CPU is pretty extreme IMO

Well, what where you using to measure the CPU usage here?

 

And if this is only occuring during the measuring task, this may be normal.  Specifically, measuring the pool goes through, and reads some infomration about all of the files in the pool, and essentially, hands that information to the background service.  This can take a while, and use up a good chunk of resources. 

 

 

However, if would like, enable file system logging and reproduce this:
