Correct way to move from Windows 8.1 Pro to Windows 10 Pro

mizzer

Question

I've got StableBit running on an 8.1 Pro system with 4x4TB's in the pool and a single SSD for the OS..  I'm concerned about the correct procedure to move to the Windows 10 Pro upgrade.  I'd like to do an "in place" upgrade if possible.  Should I let Microsoft just do its thing with the automatic upgrade or should I take additional steps?

Thanks in advance. :)

You should be safe just upgrading.

But if you're concerned at all, uninstall StableBit DrivePool, upgrade the OS to Windows 10, and then reinstall the software.

This will insure that the driver (and software) is properly installed.

And once you've reinstalled, the pool will re-appear, as if nothing happened.
