Hyper-V loses network connection to DrivePool

mkedda

Question

Windows 8.1 host running StableBit drivepool

Windows Server 2012 running inside Hyper-V on Windows 8.1

After periods of inactivity VM loses its connection to the drivepool that it is network shared to. Why does this happen?

I have the machine set to never turn off the hard drives

To clarify here, The host is Windows 8.1, and *that* is what is running StableBit DrivePool?

And you're sharing the pool on the host system, and the VM is losing access to that?

Is the pool working fine on the host when this happens?

If so, how many network adapters do you have in the system?

The reason I ask, is that ideally, you should have two. One for the host, and one dedicated for the VM. Sharing a network adapter with the host isn't recommended, as it can cause issues.
