Setting Up File History in Windows 10

I have been trying unsucessfully to set up File History to back up my primary PC to a Windows 10 Home Server.  I have drive pools set up on both my PC and Home Server.  On my PC I have my libraries set up on my drive pool.  The problem is that the file history set up will not allow me to select libraries or folders on my drive pool.  It seems I can select folders on physical drives but not folders on the drive pool.  Am I missing something here?

I believe the feature requires the "USN Journaling" feature of the file system, which we don't support on the Pool drive itself, currently.

Thanks for the reply.  So would you recommend I wait until a later version or should I reconfigure my PC back to physical drives?  Currently I have duplication set up on both my PC and Home Server which I know is redundant but  I like redundant redundancy.

I woudl recommend reconfiguring it to use a physical drive.

 

USN Journaling is a very low level feature of the NTFS file system, and may be very difficult to properly implement. So it may take a while to get to it, and to get it working.

Though, hopefully we can add USN Journaling in the future, as it is a very useful feature.
