Trouble With My Stablebit Pool

gary

Question

hi im new to the forum and would like some help with a problem im having with stablebit.

my system im using is a hp microserver n40l with 3 x 4 bay icydocks connected with a total of 15 harddrives running whs2011 and the original stablebit pooling.

the problem is my system is now running very sluggish and constally stuck in duplicating mode[duplicating in realtime] which has been running for 2 weeks,im unable to access my music files,i added a my 15th harddrive as running out of space to the pool now it says unusable for duplication.

i will be using a new server with windows 10 in the near future would i be able to copy my music files over to the new server while my old server is stuck in duplicating mode if so how would i do this?

hope any forums members could help.

thank you

gary

Is the system performance affected at all?

If not, this may be normal.

The file duplication runs at a lower priority than normal  file copies do, so it may take much longer.

If it is, then that is an issue. In this case, do you have any antivirus installed?

And can you do this: http://wiki.covecube.com/StableBit_DrivePool_Q2159701

And what controller cards are you using?

hi

i have no antivirus on,the server takes ages to load dashboard up,i cant get to my music files it starts to load but never completes.

remote connection is pretty quick.

no sure what controller cards are used in the hp n40l,the 3 icydocks are conected via usb.

the info asked for

filter name             num instances       altitude             frame

iuafv                              1                    135000                0

last time duplication finished[which lasted a few hours then started duplicating again]i got a report saying cant delete a couple of old files would you like to automatically delete the old files which i clicked yes but it still couldnt delete the files, not seen this report since as still duplicating.

regards

gary

Was the folder in question "\System Volume Information\"? If so, that's probably due to the BSOD. you should be able to safely delete the folder from the pool (you may need to take ownership of it).

Do you have StableBit Scanner installed on the system?

If so, right click on one of the drives, select "Burst Test" and run that. let this run for a few hours at least, and repeat for all of the disks.

It may be that one or more of the USB drives/enclosures are having an issue.

Alternatively, if you right click on the column header you can enable the "Performance" and "Disk Queue" columns. These may be helpful to see if there are any performance issues. If you seen one or more disks with high disk queues (more than 2-3), and stay that way for a while, it may mean that these disks are being overworked (and would reduce the responsiveness of the disks).

Also, could you enable file system logging and let it run for a while?
