Current boot or pagefile volume

stridemat

Question

Hi,

Great software!

However, I have a problem where I can't remove the drive letter from one of my internal drives (4TB RED). I have successfully mounted each of the other internal drives to a folder without an issue, however this one causes the following issue. A reboot doesn't help either.

The error mentions that the drive is the current boot or pagefile volume and therefore it can't do anything further.

Thanks for any help.

Soon after posting this issue, I found the answer on the Microsoft forums. Managed to sort my problem, so posting here for others.

Since it's not the boot drive it's obviously being used for the page file. To fix this:

1. R-click Computer in the startmenu and select Properties.
2. Advanced System Properties on the left side.
3. Choose Advanced tab->Performance Settings...->Advanced Tab->Virtual memory Change...
4. Uncheck Automatically manage paging file size for all drives.
5. Select the drive and change from "system managed size" to "No paging file"
6. Select ok and restart your computer
