  1. This question was inspired from reading another thread on this forum. I was wondering if it was possible to install Drivepool on multiple computers and have them connect over the internet so that their own locally attached drives are storing some of the data, and perhaps are duplicated files stored multiple times on each location. This way, an example of 3 computers with 20 TB each will make a combined pool with 60 TB of data or 20 TB of data duplicated to 3 copies with the copies automatically updating on the other computers when changed. Does this make sense and is it possible to do?
  2. I am using this version: Which older version would work? I prefer waiting for a new version with a fix unless it takes a very long time?
  3. Oh yeah that is right. However I would then have to have a fixed ratio of storage between the pools. And if that changes then I have to resize the volumes.
  4. I am encountering the same issue. It only seems to work on the first disk (the one that is 99,9% full): The other disks are filled a bit randomly. I have the same order for duplicated and unduplicated. Is there a way that I can fix this? FYI the two bottom disks are classified as SSD.
  5. I was wondering if it is possible to use the same disks for multiple pools? This would be useful for different network drives/shares for different users with different permissions. Right now it is possible to have a pool on a pool, but if the users check the hidden files, they can see the poolpart folder and access all the files of the parent pool. Does my question make sense?
  6. Unfortunately I do not have the skills nor the time to learn to code it. I actually searched through the forums in the hope that it was already possible without any luck. So I decided to create this user account and make this thread. So you created this as an issue that some guy called Alex will develop, or what is the link supposed to mean? (The website is bare and seems to be missing some information if I am not mistaken) I have not created any file placement rules. I have tried to look through these settings: But I still can't find "File placement settings" and a "General" tab. Do you mind guiding me in the right direction?
  7. Thank you for your reply. Is this something that will be possible in the future?
  8. What do you want to duplicate? I would just duplicate the folders you want the amount of times you want the files saved and DrivePool will automatically handle it.
  9. Hello, this is my first post here. As the title suggests, I want to fill up my slow drives to 100% while keeping fast drives at the same percentage. I have an old 320 GB disk and three Seagate Archive 8 TB disks which are slow at writing data. Therefore I only want them to be used to read data from. I also have a couple of Segate Ironwolf 10 TB and 12 TB disks which are way faster at writing data and I would like those to be filled up to the same percentage. Also, I have one folder with 2x duplication and three folders with 3x duplication. What settings do I need to set, if this is even possible? My last question is in regards to a future SSD upgrade where I want it to be used to quickly save new files before moving them to the Ironwolf disks. Is this also possible in conjunction with the above? Thank you for taking your time reading this.
