Also is it possible to play a game that will be stored on my 2nd storage computer on my first one like you can play a game from external hdd without having to transfer it to the windows hdd? Will my 2nd storage computer will require a gpu too? Thanks for helping me out gtaus!
  2. I was looking on youtube a video and they used freenas but it erased all data on hdss and i read if you add hdds in the future they better be empty as they'll get erased too. Is it better to keep drivepool and windows on the old pc and connect it with a cable to my new pc and use it like a usb or ethernet storage device? Can you give me some advise guys how to go about this?
  3. Remeasure fixed it! What recheck duplication does if there's no prior duplication? I hope i didnt mess up something as i clicked it before doing remeasure.
  4. I moved my files to new hdds and drivepool thinks i duplicated these files and lists half of my space as duplicated. Will a recheck duplication under settings solve this issue? I dont want any duplication in my pool and have it disabled, yet drive pool was trying to duplicate something, is this normal?

  10. I know wd has a software that can check for helium. Does seagate has something similar?
  11. I dont use duplication, currently i copy each hdd individually as i dont know better. My pc gave me a blue screen recently while copying files from an old hdd to a new one. Could it be the new one or the old one that is problematic, what do you think guys?
  12. Yeah that was it! I thought back then wrongly that it was giving access to the extra space that we cant touch now lol.
  13. I dont want the drive pool to duplicate itself to existing hdds but to the new ones. Is there a way to do it this way?
  14. Back into 2007-2008 there was a software that made hdds bigger than 1-2 tb be recognizable by windows and it was advertising that extra unused space can be used. It was a software converting mbr to gpt or something like that, cant remember its name. Thanks for the info everyone.
  15. I remember 10 years ago it was possible with some programs to use all space of hdd. Just got a 16tb and it has actual size 14.5, is it possible to unlock the extra size with drivepool or other programs?

  17. I'm removing a drive from the drivepool and is removing the files too while copying them to the new hdds, i would like to keep the data on the old hdds too i remove as cold backup. Is this possible? Can i stop drivepool from deleting my old hdd while copying its files to the new one?
  18. Should i wait to finish measuring before i start removing old hdds and have drive pool copy the files to the new hdds? Also it gave me a duplication warning before measuring. But i dont want to have duplicated files, should i click duplicate now to go away or leave the warning alone? If i click duplicate now will it start duplicating files like copying them 2 times on my hdds?
  19. Like playing far cry 5 which uses a lot of cpu ram and gpu resources. Is it safe to do it? Copying 8tb to another drive can take up to 24 hours and i would like to still use my computer for other stuff. Dont want things to break while doing it though. What do you guys think?
  20. i mean in the case scenario one hard drive goes bad from the pool with the new hdds, now i dont know which data i'm missing, so i pull up my old hdds and copy over everything to the pool skipping existing files instead of overwrite them. that's the idea i had in mind and can understand, if there's abetter way and you guys can provide me step by step instructions that would be great!
  21. Thank you Chris, i'm kinda still confused, i hope it doesnt come to it lol. I was thinking copy all files from old hdds to the new pool and skip existing files, is this a good idea?
