  1. Thanks VapechiK You gave me back the courage ! I am not sure if I will remove my drives during the re-installation process but I decided to re-install the OS and also Thanks Shane to double check and give me the fact that encryption option was in stablebit cloudrive (not drivepool) and I've never used bitlocker option so I think I am safe from that encryption key problem
  2. Thank you for informing me At first I thought it was easy but now with all steps you described I am in fear now there are 2 things that makes me fear a lot 1. I need to remove the drives (Is it really needed ? I mean I am not doubting you but I won't believe I really need to do this because I am having lot of internal drives, I wouldn't be feel this bad if I had only external drives but I am having lot of internal drives T_T) 2.Yes I've touched some distribution rules but I thought it didn't matter much because I thought after reinstalling drive pool it would recognize my previous setting (my custom distritubion rule) or arrange the files in default setting (that's also fine to me even it's not the same setting as before, the custom rule I set when I was drive pool noob now I realize the custom rule was not needed) IM AFRAID !! + This may be off topic but in this forum I saw a guy who lost the encrypt key which made him unable to recover his pool after windows reinstallation. I think I haven't touched the encrypt option but just to verify is there a way I can check if I have encrypt option enabled on my pool ? (I've seen some couple of times but I can't find it anymore ... so I can't check if my drive pool is encrypted or not) (I may have seen that at stablebit cloudrive that I don't really use anymore but I want to be sure if it also exists on stablebit drivepool)
  3. I've heard and know that it is safe to clean re-install the windows without touching anything of stablebit drivepool (It should detect my pool and drives as soon as I re-install the stablebit drivepool on the new windows) I know it but I haven't tried it myself yet, so I want to be certain that's the reason why I am writing this post here my situation is like this 1.My Windows c:\ drive is not part of pool (Obviously !) 2.I will not attach a new drive or detach a new drive before and during the installation process 3.My actual system is running on windows 10, I am willing to clean-install windows 11 4.I've named my windows drive to "Windows 10 drive" so there is no way that I will make a mistake and wipe the wrong drive In this situation after clean reinstalling windows 11 and then installing drivepool again it will recognize the pool and my drives right ? that's my first question and lastly should I remove the license of drivepool before wiping ? or is it safe to keep ?

    Removing empty folder

Hello guys Stablebit Drivepool new be here I've been using this for 1 week and I am encountering a small issue I have my drive W, X, Y pooled together into one Z drive The issue is that I've made a balence rule to keep folder "abracadabra" in X and Y drive only so the folder "abracadabra" and it's sub-folders and files are inside X and Y drive now. (they have size and are occupying the space) but I also see the "abracadabra" folder and it's empty sub folders in W. ( 0byte, 0file and they are not occupying the space) The balance process has been completed a day ago and even after sevral balance operation the empty "abracadabra" folder is still in the "W" drive I know there is nothing inside that folder but I've seen some topics here where admin is saying "the empty folders are in fact not empty" so I am afraid to remove the empty folder (even the balance is completed a day ago ...) Does the admin mean that the empty folder has something inside of it during the balance process ? (I can understand this one if that's the case I can remove the empty folder now because the balance is completed) or even after the balance process (I can't understand this one and I am not sure so I can't remove the empty folder now) any help would be grateful
  5. I am following your method suggested now and I've been doing well until restarting the service. But however, when I restarted the service and launched the stablebit drivepool software, as soon as the software starts, it is auto-starting the measure process automatically. (I haven't clicked the re-measure option which is inside the "manage pool" but it started itself) is it normal ? or should I re-measure again manually one more time when this auto-re measure finishes ?
  6. That's the nice trick thank you ! So the best way of manually drag & dropping to poolpart is 1.stop the service 2.create a unique non-conflicting folder that doesn't have the same name in across every drives in pool 3.drag and drop there 4.restart the service 5.re-measure just this right ? and additionaly if I use duplication option I do this extra step : Troubleshooting -> Recheck Duplication at the top of the toolbar
  7. Thank you now I see why we should stop the service before dropping the folders +According to your answer Apparently you've also tried to manually dropping the files and folders inside the hidden the pool part folder Do you prefer using that method or copying to the pool drive ?
  8. Hello guys I'm new to drive pool ! I've just made a pool and now I need to copy the datas now (from the same drive) and it seems like I have 2 choices One to just copy and paste my datas to pool drive (will take lot of time) Two just drag and drop to hidden pool part folder (almost instantly) I've take a look a bit here and it seems most of people are using the first method (maybe its safer ?) by testing myself with dummy files, 2nd method is working well but I am curious if something bad would happen in the future lol also I found this manual https://wiki.covecube.com/StableBit_DrivePool_Q4142489 it seems this should be followed when using the 2nd method but I want to know why. because without stopping and restarting the service everything just looks ok ... thanks in advance !
