skapy
Hello, i created a encrypted drive on ACD. I uploaded some files and after succesfull upload i detached the drive. Now i was trying to attach the drive to another pc. I can attach the drive and unlock it ut its not showing up in my explorer. I went to the "computer management" and then to the "disk management" and i saw that the attached drive was "offline". I rightclicked on it and clicked on "online". Now its pinning and i can see it now in my explorer. now my question: Do you know why the drive is set to "offline"? I have on both pcs the same settings. OS: win server 2012 r2, xeon cpu, 32gb ram, 2tb hdd best regards Ginoliggime
0 skapy
Ok i found the reason. It was a server rule. Problem solved
0 Christopher (Drashna)
Yeah, Servers set all new disks as "offline" by default. This is the default "SAN" policy for servers (it's in part a security measure). If you want, you can fix this. To do so: Hit "Win+X", and then "A" (accept the UAC prompt) Run "diskpart" run "san policy=OnlineAll" run "exit" This will cause new disks to show up as "online" by default.
