Disk is Missing

DrivePool

Question

I have read the FAQ on how to remove a missing drive that is listed here

http://stablebit.com/Support/DrivePool/2.X/Manual?Section=Removing%20a%20Drive%20from%20the%20Pool

However, when I click remove, NOTHING AT ALL HAPPENS.  No dialogs, no confirmations, nothing.  It acts as if I clicked nothing at all.

I have recorded a small movie of this nothing happening...due to the file attachment rules this file is in a zip file, but if you uncompress it, it is an MP4 recorded with snagit.

I have drive many different ways of plugging in this drive to get it to be recognized, it is dead.

Thanks for the assistance.

Please note that every last file that is now counted as "Other" was in fact part of the pool before the disk decided to blow up and second, I have had to re-build my drive pool a number of times now because the steps that are listed in your FAQ for handling missing disks NEVER WORK for me.

I have a lot of sensitive data on my machine especially on the drive pool so I would be interested to know what information is collected in the .etl files and the ErrorReport_XXXX_XX_XX-XX_XX_XX.X.saencryptedreport files before I submit them to you.  Since the error reports are likely encrypted, I will need a tool to view these before I submit them.

I have captured the files BEFORE I reset the settings as you have requested, but I am going to hold off uploading them pending an explanation of what they contain.

Update: After resetting the settings the 18TB drive pool with the missing disk came back, with all the data, and only 6.8Gb is listed as other rather than all of it.  The other drive pool that is only 9TB in size is showing 4.69 TB as OTHER and all of that on three drives.  I have investigated these files and they were part of the pool at one time and somehow have gotten "Lost".  They are still on the drive, just detected as Other rather than Pool Data.  I say this because the data exists in the PoolPart.<insert_guid_here> folder on the drive.

While I honestly believe that the drive pool is a great idea, I am not sure that it is stable enough for me.  Maybe I have to license drive bender and see if they have a better implementation because I have had nothing but trouble with your software.  Having to rebuild the pool is a PIA and now it looks like I am going to have to do it again.

Thanks,
