  1. Haven't seen any subjects on this... Is there a plan or any way to get deduplication for CloudDrive? Considering CloudDrive can be nested with DrivePool I'm assuming it's just a way to emulate a block device on various cloud providers, and with that I should be able to do dedupe effective as long as it's inline dedupe (Windows scheduled dedupe doesn't really help save me space being as it's already allocated on Google Storage and there is no way to "free" it as far as I can tell, plus Windows dedupe takes a massive performance hit). If it would work: is there any plans for CloudDrive t
  2. Hello! I'm fairly new to StableBit, but liking the setup so far! I've got a few pools for various resources in my server. In case it's important, here's a quick idea of what I've got running: Dell R730 running Windows Server 2019 Datacenter, connected to a 24 disk shelf via SAS. Each drive shows up individually, so I've used DrivePool to create larger buckets for my data. I'd like to have them redundant against a single drive failure, but I know that means duplicating everything. I will eventually have a pool dedicated to my VMs, and VMs deduplicate very well since each one req
  3. Hi I' use the MS deduplication and DrivePool both since the beginning. I never had any major problem with them, aside some calculation glitches with older DP releases. Now I'm in troubles. The deduplication of Windows has changed a bit since the build 16299 or so. A disk previously deduplicated with Win10 or Win server 2016, after being touched by a recent W10/Server 1803/1809/Server 2019, will be silently upgraded and the deduped files become inaccessible by older incarnations. So downgrade/dual boot is not an option. DrivePool (I tested even the latest beta) wil
  4. The only topics I've seen on this are a little old. It seems to me that it might work to enable Server's Data Deduplication tasks against the raw disk volumes instead of the main drivepool partition? does this sound like it would work? Thanks! -everyonce
  5. I was reading the changlog and I read; * [issue #13517] When the "dedup" file system filter is installed, "Bypass file system filters" is overridden and disabled. This allows pooled drives that are utilizing data deduplication to work correctly with StableBit DrivePool. Is this for the Windows Server 2012r2 Data Deduplication Service? It's been a while and I've been using mhddfs and I was looking into swapping my server back to Windows for ADDC, and some other stuff that is easier to do in windows. Right now I do a hardlink of my Finished folder to another folder called Sort. I
  6. Anyone here tried this, http://www.quantum.com/products/disk-basedbackup/dxiv1000/index.aspx, could it be used with Drivepool?
  7. Hi, I have some Questions about using Drivepool with server 2012. i'd like to duplicate a lot of files and some Hyper-V VHDs. The files are no Problem, but what can i suppose on VHDs? Can i store vhds on my pool without worrying about the data, which is written in a vm? One vhd can get a size of 500Gb or more. What happens when i enable the automatic balancing with the vhds? Do they get balanced without shutting down the vms? Can i exclude the vms/vhds from the balancing process? What happens when i remove one disk from the pool? What happens, when i create a vhd which is
