Hello,
Is it possible to use one google drive account and create two CloudDrives on it? Each folder encrypted with a different key.

Hello,
How does "automatic self-healing" work?
Are only cloud files or also the files on hdds repaired? Does de-duplication have to be turned on?
Thank you in advance.

Hello,
I change the "DrivePool_VerifyAfterCopy" to "True". How to enforce checking of the whole pool now?I am going to verify the checksum of all the duplicated files. I use 3x duplication - what if one file will be different from the others copies? What if three copies will be different from each others?

I have few 4TB WD Reds (5400) and few 4TB NAS HGST (7200). Both are reliable.
Next time I will buy only WD Reds (5400) are cheaper and much colder.

Hello Christopher,
1. Many people are using the DrivePool together with SnapRaid, because the DrivePool does not provide with data integrity protection - but for me DrivePool + SnapRaid over-complicated things.2. What will be the main new features and benefits of new release versions for StableBit DrivePool and StableBit Scanner?

Hello Christopher,
Are you going to work on StableBit FileVault?I think the data integrity and file protection is for the most of your clients very important.

How the CloudDrive upload the VeraCrypt / TrueCrypt container?
Example (Dropbox):
Dropbox can synchronize only the changed portions of large files, while Google Drive and SkyDrive can only synchronize entire files (as far as I can tell). This means that, if you have a 100GB TrueCrypt drive and change a small file in it, Dropbox will upload a small portion of the TrueCrypt file, while Google Drive and SkyDrive will re-upload the entire 100GB file. -
Hello,
How Poolpool + CloudDrive work with VeraCrypt container (uncheck: Preserve modification timestamp of file containers)?
What happen if I will add new file to the cointainer? Will whole container be dupilicated by drivepool or only small parts? What about the cloudrive in such situaction?

Hello,
I finally bought a CloudDrive license. This is my fifth license for your products.
A piece of good software for a very good price.

Hello,
Is the CloudDrive as the stable release now?
-
Hello,
Where the checksums are stored?
What do you mean that during the data access they are verified? During the download?
I would be good to have an option to be able to verify the data any time (compare the whole backup with the source) - not necessarily in the first stable release.
-
Hello,
How to make the CloudDrive to compare again the whole backup with the source (checksum checking)?
Thanks.

I don't think this software suits my need, i'll keep using the basic googledrive client thanks for the help everyone!
What is your need? CloudDrive is a piece of good software.

Hi, I've just started using CloudDrive with google drive and i have some questions about the way to software works, i'm not very good at tech stuff so maybe these questions are stupid sorry about that!
Can i access my files from google drive if i'm using an unencrypted disk? Are they viewable , searchable in clear?
Is there a way to move my already backed up google drive files to an unencrypted disk? Without having to redownload them locally?
If i use CloudDrive for backing up my computer to an encrypted disk is there a way to access my files from somewhere else?
If i stop using this software will there be a way for me to be able to still access my files?
Thanks in advance
1. I am using the encrypted storage, so please check it yourself.
2. I do not think so.
3. But in somewhere else you will have to still use the CloudDrive.
4. Yes, but with CloudDrive.

1. The drives will not be added to existing pool.
2. The second pool in PC2 will not be automatically created.
3. You will have to create the second pool.

I found it.
Topic to be closed.

Hello,
I have the pool (file duplication 2x) and now I would like to add to this pool the CloudDrive, but only for some folders.
So, only some folders from the pool will be duplicated (3x) in the the CloudDrive.
How to do this?
Thank you in advance.

...
It seems to have been in beta for a long time so I'm a little worried that it's buggy.
I am also waiting for the stable version of CloudDrive but I have no concerns about the quality of the final product, because other products (DrivePool and Scanner) are very good and also support is at a high level.

...
The only other option is something called UNRAID, do you happen to know anything about that?
You should ask on the unRAID forum.
-
@Christopher:
I suggest that you should actually stop working on proper ACD implementation. Please focus on other well working providers to release the final program. -
This is why I am using the DrivePool - you can always read the drive in other pc system (without rebuilding).Even is Storage Spaces was a one click setup, I still wouldn't use it. It has the same dangers as any other solution that stripes data and doesn't keep individual disks readable in a normal pc.
If possible - stay away from Storage Spaces.
Of course you can use more parity drives to increase the security (e.g. raidz3), but I prefer 2x or 3x duplication in DrivePool + Clouddrive (cheaper and less complicated in case of problems).RAID with striping, ZFS etc all have the same dangers.

What do you expect from the unix/linux solutions?
I'm happy with solutions as it has the Drivepool and Scanner. The DriveCloud is step forward and I am only waiting for the parity feature in DP.

Automatic self-healing - how it works?
in General
Posted
I need an explanation from the Stablebit team.
What exactly is automatic self-healing and de-duplication? How does it work?
Which data is repaired and with using what data?
Thank you in advance.
