  1. Has there every been any thoughts for a linux port? I am actually considering ditching Windows for Linux Mint but I dont want to miss out on the super easy setup like drivepool? I know there are countless ways to do the same with linux but I still want to continue using Drive Pool. On another note, migrating data from drive pool to linux any thoughts, ideas or concerns besides the whole (MAKE A BACKUP) before doing anything?
  2. Hey just wanted to say I just got a warning just like yours and I knew it was a false positive. As a recommendation you can submit your application to the webroot team and they will investigate into it and clear it off of the list. I know most of us are highly tech savy but even so it does build more trust with the program itself (not that I needed any).
  3. So I am getting real near to adding a couple more hard drives to my desktop and I am running out of sata ports to plug into and was hoping someone can offer a little advice or opinions about some products. My desktop is a little bit of everything. I use it mainly as a server. I host all my media content that serves two TVS in my apartment, I also use it as a Web, Database server, a little gaming here and there and lastly I do a little bit of programming. 1) SATA Controller Card - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16816124064 A) Any speed penalty if I go with a PCI-E Controller card? Is there any cons at all going this route? C) Anything more reliable or better then this? D) What if I have multiple Controller cards? 2) More Power Connectors - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812400127&Tpk=PYO4SATA A) Any drawback having multiple drives on a strand?
  4. Awesome answers guys, this has really given me a great deal of information to digest. I think I am going to go the route of adding more drives to the pool and enabling duplication and read striping. To further ensure there is a safe backup I am most likely going to backup files to a NAS.
  5. I just purchased the combo pack and absolutely love the software, great work! I currently have one pool that consists of two 3TB Hard drives I am looking at adding 2 more 3TB hard drives in the near future. This pool is used for my Media and I am fearful of losing my data. My question is I want to be able to create a second pool that will make duplicate the data from the first pool. Is there a way to do this that is built into DrivePool? I have already thought about if there wasnt I could always set up a batch job to be done to do this for me but I really would like something more integrated within DrivePool to handle this task.
