Drive pool has decided to duplicate some random files, even though I don't have duplication enabled!

Question

I originally started this thread for an issue that's now resolved, but a different issue has popped up since then! I have a SSD I use with the SSD optimizer plugin. Just now, Drivepool has decided to duplicate some random files on my SSD, even though I don't have duplication enabled! It seems to fail though, as it throws up a duplication warning after it finishes. Any idea how to fix this?

*ORIGINAL PROBLEM TO FOLLOW*

I use Drivepool to turn 3 mechanical drives (and one SSD for the SSD optimizer plugin) into one big drive for media. All has been well, until just now, when I opened my media drive and noticed a lot of my icons were broken (I use icon files to change the folders into cover art). I checked the folders and the cause was the icon files were missing! I also noticed a lot of the video files that should be in these folders are gone too!

What happened?? The only changes I recently made to Drivepool was I added and removed a drive from a different pool and disabled the drive usage limiter plugin on my media pool since I don't use file duplication. I've checked the PoolPart folders on the drive and I've noticed there are duplicates of the same folder that also appears on the other drive's PoolPart folder, only this folder is empty, if that means anything. The drives themselves seem to be fine.

*EDIT* It seems the cause of my issue was one of the HDDs decided to suddenly disappear, which is a bit strange. Rebooting bought it back online and fixed the missed files. Though for some reason, Drivepool has decided to randomly duplicate some files on my SSD buffer drive, despite that I don't have duplication enabled for this pool!

In Drivepool, click the small gear in the upper-right, choose Troubleshooting, then Recheck Duplication.  All pools duplicate the Metadata with >1 drive, even if you have file/folder and pool duplication turned off.  If you go into Manage Pool, File Protection, Folder Duplication, you can see all of the folders in the pool, and the hidden Metadata folder (which shouuld have 3x duplication on it by default).

It may be that DP decided to use the SSD to temporarily hold some of the duplicated Metadata since the HDD went missing.  If so and the old HDD is re-attached, then forcing a re-check on the duplication should iron out any issues with it.  After that check is done, I'd force a re-measure on the pool also.
