Zero byte files

Question

Hello,

I have found a number of files on one of the drives in the pool that are zero bytes in size. These files had content originally and at some point became 0 bytes.

Stablebit scanner is reporting that the drive is good. I marked the file system as "unchecked" and it checked it again as good. I ran chkdsk on the drive and it didn't find any problems.

I was running Drivepool 2.3.1.1448 (64 bit on Windows 10) up until today when I upgraded to the latest.

This is the second time (that I know of) that this has happened. I'd like to understand why it happens so I can prevent it in the future.

I found an old thread from someone with a similar issue but there isn't really an answer there about why it happens or how to prevent it.

Could anyone shed some light?

Thanks!
