Yes, routing and remote access is installed, but it is not active or configured. And yes, I am using a dedicated NIC.
I know that drivepool is the issue, because uninstalling it is what allowed me to uninstall forefront client.
I can confirm that this is not limited to the Essentials role.
My Server is running 2012 R2 Datacenter and only has Hyper-V and DNS roles installed.
And I'm also unable to uninstall at this time.
