Some directories are bigger than one drive. Drive poll, once started filling the second one should try to maintain the drive with only data coming from this directory until there is no space left on the other drives and there the need for this free space. Same policy for the first drive: use free space for other data only if there is no space left on other drives. Regards, Giuseppe Chillemi

Hi, is there a way to tell Drive Pool one or more of the following ? "This directory should be on a standalone drive, do no use the free space until the other drives are full" When extending it to a another drive, try the same strategy" Then the optimizer whould act accordingly overnight when the drives free space or directories dimension changes or rules change. Hi, I was adding my X drive to the pool. Then I have realized it was a mistake. Drive pool was at 95% completition when I have hit stop. Drive pool infomed me with something like "interrupting operation" then.. surprise, the drive appeared as added to the pool. Then I have hit "remove" and drive pool gave me an error (more on the screenshot) I have uploaded a screenshot of the situatiod. I have yeallow marked the X drive reported as added to the pool, the X: drive in explorer (it shouldn't be there, a "storage" pool should be there. Hi, neither I will start a debate on this. My paranoic mind thinks too that bitlocker has a weakened encription. I will change my question: are you aware of an open source encription tool that respect Windows APIs and it could be as traspearent as bitlocker ? Giuseppe Chillemi

Hi, I have made some unexpected action to DrivePool. I had 2 4TB drives. I have started removing 2 drives the from the pool. As it contains unuseful data I was bored waiting and I have reset my pc (!). At the next boot I have forced formatted them and rebooted the PC. Finally I have open the drive pool window and the just formatted drives were not displayed. Opening the partition I have found on ".part file" or something like this as if DrivePool has written a file from the previous operation even if the drive has been formatted. I have then uninstalled and reinstalled drive pool with no luck. The drives were still not listed. I have removed (rebooted) again, removed the partition and created 2 new ones with different drive letters. I have finally reinstalled drivepool and the drives appeared as available. I know, I have made very bad things a good boy must not perform to his PC and software but I did them I am I am now reporting the result of my action in this forum. Giuseppe Chillemi

Hi, I have gone crazy to access the "plugin" configuration windows. I have not found any element of the UI which led me to that section until.. ... until I have clicked on "Bilanciamento in corso...." menu' item. I could translate it as " undergoing balancing...": a message something is happening underground and not a way to access the plugin section. Now there are alternatives to TrueCrypt: Veracrypt or DiskCryptor or FreeOTFE. Are there any of those alternatives compatible ? Regards, Giuseppe
