Thanks for clearing that out for me. For now I'm using the pool for storage only. After stopping the indexing service, the hard drives powered done. My server is now idling at ~25W, so I'm very pleased with that. Thanks for your help.

I've been testing the DrivePool (Trail) for a couple of days now since I moved from WHS v1 to WHS 2011. So far, it offers all I need. The only thing is that my hard drives in the pool (3x 2TB) are not powering down when not used for 15 minutes. I'm not sure why this is, but I guess the balancer keeps balancing. Because even when I'm not accessing my server files, I see constant reads at the Pool Performance (100 KB/s to about 3 MB/s) Is this caused by the balancing, or is the software indexing or something similar?
