carried out the above and its made things worse lost all my folders like blu ray or Disney dvd carried out the wss troubleshooter and now at a loss help :-)

yes has full control on pool z it was working ok just noticed the unknown space just before xmas

just tried a test folder on drive D(not pooled) it moves ok just drivepool Z appears to have the issue just downloaded the latest beta as well also just changed its permissions for users from read only to read/write with no issues using the non pooled folder seems to be drivepool Z related

restarted the server storage service and still the same so looks like a reinstall this weekend :-(

i can rdp into server go into mycomputer and access drivepool z with no issues I can browse folders using the dashboard as well just have an issue when I try to add new pc's and then change folder permissions and also it shows unknown in tab as per first screenshot just added new server folder called roku shows its on G:\ServerFolder\roku and has 2077gb free space but when I try to move folder to z it does not give me that option just e f g or h:\serverfolder\roku

drivepool tab showing pool assigned z 13.6tb wd 250 gb system drive 5 x wd red 3tb drives in pool Z wd 250gb drive for system backup all showing as healthy on scanner and non missing

just noticed when I try to change users access to folders I get an error that cannot changed the properties of the folder as the folders is currently being moved tried the reboot same error

should I have free space and status showing anything or should they be blank see to have got myself in a panic over this :-) running latest beta of drivepool and scanner

totally agree with the above had 10 x 2tb green ears drives and some reported correctly some didn't good excuse to buy some wd 3TB reds :-)

thought that sorted it got to about 98% of the progress bar and said the connector has encounted a problem and will undo most of the changes made

as regarding IPv6 thats a new one on me have read loads of colums about connector issues but none have mentioned disabling IPv6

connector software tells me cannot proceed as another software installation is in progress or a restart is pending neither are correct :-( thanks for your help

i really wonder if i should dump this whs2011 and get essential 2012 spend days trying to sort it then presto it works :-) all drives checked ok as well now cannot get the connector software to work thanks for the help

hi there drivepool is showing the 8 discs I had reset permissions forgot to tell you about that step :-( still the same running as admin shows something quicly then go straight to access denied using remote desktop connection

had a disc failure so did a reinstall and cannot get shares to repolulate using whs troubleshooter steps followed 1. powered down server 2 replaced c drive 3. disconnected all data drives 4. did reinstall as backup image wouldn't work 5. installed all updates 6. installed driverpool and scanner 7. changed pool to Z 8. changed blu ray player to W 9. reconnected all data drives one at a time to make sure drive 1 was e drive 2 was f etc 10. drivepool show 8 discs in pool but when I run wss troubleshooter to redo shares I get an error fix was not successful access is denied any help please

hi alex its a gigabyte board using the p45 chipset so intel chip I believe

alex this whs 2011 version fixed the incorrect duplicated serial number :-) BUT the ones which were correct that are connected using the onboard sata ports are now showing as 20 odd digit numbers instead of the correct serial numbers thanks adrian
