  1. I'm open to suggestions on the case and PSU. I just like the case because it was the one I ended up with.
  2. Cool. The rest of it looks good?
  3. Oh really? Newegg was sold out and Amazon had retailer that looked shady as heck, so I figured it was over and done with. Maybe it's just a US thing?
  4. Hello folks! A few years back I setup a friend with an HP MediaSmart server, and it's held up very well over the years, at least until recently. Now it just becomes completely unresponsive after awhile. I've tried troubleshooting it, but since it's been in use a good long while my friend agreed it's probably time for a new server. My requirements are going to be something stable and reliable (he's a good friend but I don't want to be over there troubleshooting all the time), and easily expandable. I built my server two years ago, based around WHS2011 and DrivePool. It's been rock solid ever since, but since WHS2011 isn't available anymore, I figured I would go with W7 64bit. The server will be running the following: - DrivePool - SABNZBd - CouchPotato - Sickbeard - Plex - AirVideo for streaming to iOS on the fly Here's what I have so far: Fractal Design Define XL R2 FD-CA-DEF-XL-R2-BL Black/Pearl Steel ATX Full Tower http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811352029 Seagate NAS HDD ST3000VN000 3TB 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s Internal Hard Drive http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822178392 ASRock B75M-GL R2.0 LGA 1155 Intel B75 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard with UEFI BIOS http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157365 Intel Core i3-3240 Ivy Bridge 3.4GHz LGA 1155 55W Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116773 Crucial 4GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Desktop Memory Model CT51264BA1339 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820148346 Rosewill CAPSTONE-450 450W Continuous @ 50°C, Intel Haswell Ready, 80 PLUS GOLD, ATX12V v2.31 & EPS12V v2.92, SLI/CrossFire ... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817182066 He already has 3x 2TB drives I'm planning on tossing in with the two 3TB drives, which should give him plenty of growing space. I feel like the CPU might be a bit overkill, but I want this box to last several years at least. The case is the one I ended up going with, and is probably the easiest case I've ever worked with so it was kind of a no-brainer. Any thoughts on how to make it cheaper/better/stronger?
